On the first floor, the Harbourside certainly has the WOW factor with a polished
pewter bar on the upper level – perfect for pre-dinner drinks or maybe a glass or two
of Champagne and oysters. The views from the restaurant take in the Stour and Orwell estuaries and the harbour below.
The Harbourside specialises in seafood much of which is landed in the harbour opposite and head Chef Chris Oakley who has been
at The Pier since it opened in 1978 makes full use of the fresh produce available.
On the ground floor the Ha'Penny Bistro is open all day and the full bistro menu is available from 12 noon right through to 9.30 in the evening. Perfect if you plan to arrive at The Pier by water so there is no rush… The menu here is brasserie in style and flavour with a relaxed atmosphere – perfect for all the family.
During the summer guests can also eat outside on the terrace (weather permitting!),
it really is the ideal place to sit and watch the world (and boats go by!)
