With the longer days just around the corner, now’s the time to get out your walking boots and book tickets for the 2016 Suffolk Walking Festival.
The festival has a programme of some 77 guided walks across Suffolk from 14th May to 5th June 2016. They vary from the three Challenge Walks for those with sturdy legs and strong hearts starting with The Mega Challenge from Lowestoft to Felixstowe covers 60 miles in 24 hours; The Classic Challenge covers a similar route but at a more sedate pace over five days; and The Mini Challenge is a series of three walks of about nine miles each, over three days.
Other walks include two stress-busting mindfulness walks, a ‘prambling’ walk for parents with prams, countryside, photography, birdwatching (at Minsmere) and Pilates walks, the ever-popular ‘Horrible History For Families’ in Ipswich and many more including a walk through the park followed by a Teddy Bear’s picnic. Some even include a cream tea or other refreshments and all are an informal and sociable way to explore the diverse county of Suffolk.
