Congratulations to one of our trainee chefs at Le Talbooth …

Tom Booton, trainee commis chef at Le Talbooth won the ‘Chef of the Future’ category at the Essex Food and Drinks Awards on Tuesday 5th October.

Tom was up against four other finalists from across the county. He had to cook a two course meal spending £10 and using local produce. Tom chose to cook fillet of Black Bream with local samphire, turned Langham potatoes and a lemon butter sauce. To follow was a deconstructed Ardleigh Raspberry Trifle. The ‘cook off’ took place at Chelmsford College and Tom was given just 1 ½ hours to cook his meal but he obviously impressed the judges!
