The Pier in Harwich is the perfect destination for cyclists exploring Essex and we’re sure you’ll enjoy our refreshing drinks and refueling lunches as you look out over the harbour while taking a break from the saddle.

Cycling in Essex is fun (thanks to the wonderful scenery and fairly flat terrain!) and the coastal setting of Harwich is ideally located at the end of National Cycle Route 51. For the more dedicated riders, Harwich is also on the North Sea Cycle Route, which covers a total of 3,500 miles and takes in six different countries – so definitely not for the faint hearted!

However, both casual and serious riders will love our ‘Cycle to the Sea’ offer as you can enjoy a drink on us when you get to The Pier. Simply cycle at least 10 miles to reach us and we’ll be happy to serve you a complimentary glass of wine, pint of beer, soft drink, tea or coffee to help quench your thirst.

If you don’t fancy cycling home (perhaps we can tempt you to enjoy some of our delicious fresh sea food instead!), then you can always take the train from Harwich Town station which is just seconds away from the hotel. The evocatively named MayflowerLine takes you along the banks of the River Stour to Manningtree and beyond.

If that all sounds like a little too much effort though, then take a look at our special offers instead and choose the one that’s just right for you.
