Cycling in Essex

For a relaxing cycle ride make sure you visit Constable Country in Dedham Vale’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The sublime gently rolling agricultural landscape is broken by Dedham church and the mills and barns that Constable immortalised in the 19th century. These are ideal for exploring by bike, but if you’re looking for something a little more energetic and diverse, then head for Colchester. Britain’s oldest recorded town, today it offers a happy blend of heritage and contemporary atmosphere with a variety of specialist shops, cafes, restaurants and galleries.
