The popular foot ferry which has been in use for over 100 years to link Essex and Suffolk has been saved from folding.

This is great news for guests at Milsom Hotels who regularly make use of the Harwich Harbour ferry as they visit The Pier at Harwich and milsoms Kesgrave Hall.

There were fears the service would cease to operate when operator Alan Sage announced he was retiring, but Christian Zemann has taken over ownership of the Harwich Harbour ferry, which has been runinng since 1912.

The boat carries pedestrians and cyclists between Harwich, Felixstowe and Shotley.
