Blaze the antique trail and see if you can find yourself a bargain. These two villages, just two miles apart, have an abundance of antique shops and barns. If you know what you’re looking for you could well find it in Hall Street, Long Melford. Lavenham has been described as the “finest medieval town in England” and has more than 300 buildings listed as being of architectural and historical interest, a visit to the Guild Hall in the Market Square is a must.
