Then you’re sure to enjoy the latest film from Richard Curtis of Four Weddings, Love Actually and Notting Hill fame. The Boat that Rocked is classed as a period comedy about an illegal radio station in the North Sea in the 1960’s – memories of Radio Caroline, Tony Blackburn, Simon Dee and the many other DJ’s that made this part of Essex famous in the 60’s!

Starring Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh and Bill Nighy, the film will be shown at the Electric Palace in Harwich over the Easter Weekend (10, 11 and 12 April). To view the times click on the link to the Electric Palace. Remember its ‘all day dining’ in the Ha’penny Pier so you can eat either before or after the film. BBC Radio Essex are also broadcasting live throughout the Easter weekend from ‘the pirate ship’ in the harbour so there are plenty of reasons to visit Harwich over Easter!
