Suffolk offers an impressive list of events in 2013 to keep locals and visitors entertained all year. One of the most picturesque places in England, Suffolk has kept its agricultural roots and also has some of the earliest inhabited places in the country. It is famous for beautiful beaches, traditional country living and pastoral beauty, which makes it a good background for these fantastic events.

Suffolk Events for 2013

Suffolk Aldeburgh Music Festival 7th to 23rd June
The Aldeburgh Music Festival offers a wide selection of performances from violins and cellos playing Faster than Sound to the Latvian Radio Choir. There are also documentaries, discussions and Perspectives on Britten about Benjamin Britten’s life and music. Aldeburgh is devoted to inspiring artists at all stages of their careers with its rich musical heritage and inspirational scenery.

Suffolk’s Maverick Festival 5th to 7th July
Located at Easton Farm Park, it is considered one of the best small music festivals in the country. With live music from both sides of the Atlantic, is it a celebration of Americana music, comedy, film, dance, and workshops with more than 40 artists on stages indoors and outdoors. Music is still the top attraction at this well organized, friendly festival.

Suffolk’s Latitude Multi-Arts Festival 18th to 21st July
Latitude is a multi-arts festival located in Henham Park that is more than a music festival. It is an award-winning event featuring Bobby Womack and Eddie Izzard, Kraftwerk and their 3D show. Other award-winning groups will perform as well as comedy acts, theatre, cabaret and poetry. Set in the countryside, it’s a beautiful place to spend one or several days.

Suffolk Bildeston’s B Natural Music Festival, 7th and 8th September
Set in venues throughout the village of Bildeston, which is 12 miles west of Ipswich, there are performances in the clock tower square, churches, pubs and gardens. The festival includes stalls where visitors can purchase local produce and other things. There are musical workshops for children and a Musical Sunday Brunch in the village square.

Stamping Ground Festival of Americana 7th and 8th September
Another celebration of Americana with a slightly different flavour takes place at Stonham Barns in Stowmarket. The festival features top artists from the Bluegrass, Cajun, Country and Appalachian genres.
