You may remember a story from a couple of years ago when four diners enjoyed a £520 dinner at milsoms before making a run for it without paying the bill.

Well we’re pleased to be able to tell you that one of the group has now been ordered to settle the tab after appearing in court on Wednesday.

William Potter, of Cedar Avenue, Tiptree, admitted to police that he was responsible for the incident and pleaded guilty in Chelmsford Crown Court, where he received a 120-hour unpaid work order and was told to pay the outstanding restaurant bill.

The group – who enjoyed beef fillets and bottles of Dom Perignon Champagne – were caught on CCTV during the evening of February 2, 2013, and this evidence was used by the police to track down ringleader Potter.

If, like Potter, you simply can’t resist the mouthwatering menu options on offer at milsoms, we’d love to see you soon – just remember to bring your wallet!
