The Women’s Tour of Britain returns to Suffolk this year after a successful inaugural event in 2014.
The international women’s cycling stage-race will take place in the county for the second year in succession during five days in June and our hotels are ideally placed to allow you to share in the experience.
The first stage of the 2015 Friends Life Women’s Tour begins at the Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday, June 17, and although we’re still waiting for the exact route to be confirmed, we know the riders will cover the county before crossing the finish line at nearby Aldeburgh.
Our hotel properties are all within cycling distance of each other and we’re hoping to welcome plenty of race fans to enjoy food and overnight stays with us during the event.
Although this year’s riders have not yet been announced, the likes of double Olympic gold medallist Laura Trott, world champion Dani King, world cup winner Joanna Rowsell and national cyclo-cross champion Helen Wyman could all be involved. Last year saw Dutch rider Marianne Vos claim overall victory, while Olympic silver medallist Lizzie Armitstead also competed in the inaugural event.
