Melissa Stannard, Assistant Manager at Talbooth Restaurant headed out to the glorious Champagne region for an incredible learning experience this summer, hosted by Champagne Taittinger and the Master Innholders.
The 2-day immersive trip involved a visit to the original Taittinger Chateau, with tours and demonstrations of the vineyard, factory and surroundings, accompanied a tour from Quentin the winemaker himself. The group were able to see the process from the vineyard, all the way through to bottling – accompanied by amazing dining, prepared on-site with a private chef.
Last year, Melissa completed her WSET Level 2 where she developed a deeper interest in wine. Supported by our Deputy General Manager, Jessica Counsell, Melissa completed an application process where she explained her experience, her job role and her interest in this opportunity. Melissa was selected from applicants across the country, handpicking those who would truly benefit professionally, from this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
