An excellent atmosphere at The Pier today as the Tall Ships Youth Trust voyage sets off from Harwich.
This long-awaited project initially intended to set sail in 2020, celebrating 200 years of the Mayflower has been extremely special to us.
The late Gerald Milsom loved sailing, Harwich and was a huge supporter of finding ways for young people to make the most of their talents through getting out and doing things.
He would have been delighted that the fund set up in his memory through the Essex Community Foundation was going towards sponsoring projects like this.
This is an excellent opportunity for select young people to learn new skills and experience being at sea.
Thank you to all who helped make this voyage happen and we hope this project can be continued in future years.
